After a huge dump in early February, weather became really sunny for weeks. While the south facing slopes started to get crusty or even slushy, north facing slopes stayed powdery all the time. Due to the stable weather, avalanche level dropped down to 1, so it was possible to ski really steep and shady slopes and couloirs.
Therefore we went to the Krönten hut. Even though this hut is close to the famous ski areas Engelberg and Andermatt, it wasn't crowded at all. One reason might be that the mountains at Krönten area are really steep, but exactly this was what we were looking for.
