Engelberg is known as an outstanding freeride destination with up to 2000 meter long runs. As a local mountain guide with more than 15 years of freeride experience in Engelberg, I'll show you the classics as well as the lesser known slopes in the valley of Engelberg, where you can find, even after days, untracked slopes.

The Gemstockbahn brings you within a few minutes up to an altitude of almost 3000 meters and into a world class freeride area. From here you access powder runs with up to 1500 vertical meters of descent without walking. The really good thing about Andermatt is that you can find, with small hikes - even after days of beautiful weather - untouched slopes in a fascinating landscape of snow and rocks.

Besides world-famous destinations such as Verbier and Zermatt, you can also find in this mountainous corner of Switzerland many other top freeride destinations; Val d’Anniviers with Zinal and Grimentz or Lauchernalp in Lötschental valley. In this corner of Switzerland, the chances of untouched powder slopes are particularly high.

Serre Chevalier, settled around the highest peaks of the southwestern Alps, offers one of the best tree skiing in the Alps, open alpine slopes and endless free touring terrain. Once you are in this corner of the Alps, you shouldn't miss Sestriere and La Grave, which can be reached within a 1 hour drive. There is no need to talk about La Grave, as everybody has heard of its insane alpine terrain. But still really underrated is the area of Sestriere with amazing tree skiing, easy accessible couloirs and big slopes.

Do you know the feeling of being at the wrong time at the wrong place? In order that this doesn’t happen to you on your skiing holiday, I would like to organize a hotel for you. The booking is short-term, so we can go free riding where the snow is. If you travel from abroad, you only need to buy your travel ticket to Zurich or Geneva and the rest of the accommodation and transportation is organized by me. If you plan this in January, a nice hotel can be found on the day before, and powder will be actually guaranteed.
